Clownshoe Motorsports (CSM)
Team principal Brent Meyer and PhotoMotion founder Robert Phelan started Clownshoe Motorsports in 2007 and began building a Porsche 944 for NASA's fledgling 944 Spec and SCCA's ITS classes. The 2007/2008 off season was jam packed with the job of turning a 25-year-old afront to Porsche purists into a serious track contender. You can catch pictures and comments regarding this ambitious project on our unofficial build-log. 2008 saw the car compete in 11 sprint races and a 3 hour enduro, claiming a pole position over the entire SCCA IT field and 4 top-3 finishes in NASA's 944 Spec!
2009 was a development year for Clownshoe Motorsports, with a our performance shop opening in Dallas, but it won't be quiet for long. In 2010 CSM will be fielding a 333hp BMW M Coupe in a televised cross-country driving event called the "Robin Hood Rally". Each rally team will be competing for prizes, glory, and a super-car of their own to take home! Check your local listings for showtimes!
Over the past two years Vince Ko has developed and successfully campaigned the #75 Autohaus BMW M3 in NASA's GTS3 and BMW Club Racing's I-Prepared classes. With 4 podium finishes under the belt, and major sponsor Autohaus of Clayton joining the effort this year, Vince must be doing something right! The car had a solid 2009 year and is still running strong. We're looking forward to seeing what he has coming for us in 2010!
For some folks, the track bug hits harder than others. Just four months after his first time on the track in his E36 M3, Julian Cates bought a 325is race tub and started building. He continued to blast through the HPDE ranks and a race school in his M3. When the 325is was completed in 2009, when he took it on its first NASA race at Putnam Park that October. In his first full season in 2010, Julian amassed 4 race victories for a total of 5 podiums and second place overall in NASA's GTS2 championship. For 2011, Julian is moving into the crowded fields of the Spec Miata class and is looking forward to an eventful first season with his newly built car.
Want to be added as a Photomotion Sponsored racer? Funding a built and blueprinted motor might be a little out of our reach, but shoot us a note and we'd be happy to discuss what we can do for you. Vinyl and stickers are of course available on request.
